About Annette
Annette Weiner was born in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1952. She grew up in Chevy Chase, Maryland, where, as a small child, her passion for art began. She pursued her art throughout grade school. She attended the University of Maryland in 1970, majoring in fine art. She also attended The Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland where studied illustration. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree with a concentration in art therapy from Vermont College.
In 1984, Annette worked for an advertising agency and also as a freelance graphic artist. After getting married she started her own company, Art Accents, a corporate art consulting firm. She ran the business for ten years until she decided to be a stay at home mother to her two children.
In 2003, Annette studied watercolors with artist Bonny Lundy, a well known watercolorist and teacher in the DC Metro area. She began expressing her love of flowers through her paintings. She participated in her first group show where she exhibited a collection of floral paintings. She sold her first four paintings and was also requested to paint her first commissioned piece.
In 2009, when she had more time to devote to her personal growth as an artist, she returned to painting flowers in watercolors. She currently paints and photographs flowers as she is greatly inspired by their beauty, their lush shapes and vibrant colors. Her work has been selected for exhibition in various juried shows over the past year. She is excited about her new found journey back to her art and the endless possibilities ahead of her. She is looking forward to her work evolving as she grows as an emerging artist.
